Letter from the Conference President

Dear colleagues and friends,

The

IMMC11 – The 11th International Medicinal Mushroom Conference

is quickly approaching.

The conference will be in Belgrade, Serbia, in Crowne Plaza Hotel, in three weeks, from 27. to 30. September 2022.

Preparations for the Conference are well underway and according to plan.

Organizing and Scientific Committee were able to put together a very strong core scientific program, with more than 85 keynote, plenary and invited lectures covering all main themes and contemporary challenges in the domain. In addition, more than 150 submissions for parallel oral and e-poster sessions have been recieved from all over the world. Until now, more than 190 colleagues registered for the Conference.

However, it should be emphasized that the IMMC11 is being organized in the times of multiple and prolonged global crisis. From the beginning 2020, continuous global health treats, political and even military crisis and the overall economic instability are largely affecting life of people and societies across the globe, including the possibility to travel without restrictions.

Clearly, our mission, ISMM tself and the IMMC11 could have not remain unaffected. Despite high quality event, program and lecturers, as well as well-planned and executed nine months long informational, promotion and marketing campaigns to all target groups, totalling more than 4.000 colleagues, already as of December 2021, response is far from satisfactory and considerably below ISMM standards for previous global ISMM Conference events, held both in China, as well as in Europe and Americas.

Visionary initiative of our founders from the end of XX century should stand the test of time. Our mission in developing the science, knowledge transfer and collaboration of all different actors in domain of Medicinal Mushrooms should continue and tend to develop further even in times of hardship.
